Open Door Policy

This cartoon is about the open door policy. The cartoonist’s message on this is that everybody took advantage of China and without even consulting him or her. I can imagine people having multiple opinions on this such as that it was unfair, and that one would be that we didn’t need the Chinese opinion. The cartoonist used analogy and symbolism in this cartoon to make it persuasive. Analogy was used to compare the pie to China’s recourses. Symbolism was used because everyone got a piece of pie or China’s recourses without China’s say. This cartoon supports my opinion because once again America and everyone else had too much power and it was unfair.
